Joe Angello has a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of California, Berkeley. After working in the seafood business for eighteen years – from commercial fishing in Alaska to wholesale distribution to import/export – he and his family moved to Harlemville, NY so that his son could attend the Waldorf School while Joe joined the Hawthorne Valley Farm operation. In 2003, after managing the Farm Store for four years, he founded Angello's Distributing Company.

Will Brinton grew up in Pennsylvania and entered vocational agriculture boarding school in Ohio, going on to practice organic and biodynamic farming in Maine after high school. Will holds college degrees in agronomy, soil and plant science, and was awarded an honorary doctorate in environmental science for his efforts studying organic acid cycles in composting. Will founded Woods End Laboratory, located in Mt. Vernon Maine, which originally specialized in soil testing, then added compost services and now is investigating carbon emission offsets and biogas processes for new treatment of organic wastes. Brinton is active in numerous agricultural associations and has published more than thirty scientific papers on compost and horticultural topics.

Rebecca Fletcher has been with Equity Trust since 2005. She brings her passionate commitment to justice, a deep concern regarding the use and control of our global resources, and enthusiasm for words. In addition to other responsibilities, she manages Equity Trust's Database, and writes and designs their outreach materials. A graduate of Hampshire College, Rebecca grew up in Amherst, Massachusetts.

Kyle Holzhueter has studied natural farming in Japan, permaculture and ecovillage design in Australia, and biodynamic agriculture in Kimberton, PA.†He's written extensively for the Rodale Institute's on-line publication, NewFarm.org.†He holds a Master of Science in Sustainable Systems from Slippery Rock University, PA, where he managed the student organic farm.†He is currently a research student at Nihon University, Japan, in the graduate school of Natural Environmental Sciences.

Ellie Kastanopolous has been the Executive Director of Equity Trust in Massachusetts since 2003. Ellie has managed Equity Trust's revolving loan fund since she joined the staff, and has provided extensive technical assistance and training to groups around the country. Previous to that Ellie was the Director of the Maine Homestead Land Trust Alliance, a statewide coalition of community land trusts. Ellie and her children are homeowners and leaseholders with Covenant Community Land Trust in Orland, Maine.

Equity Trust is a small, national non-profit that helps people organize land and money to build healthy community. Emerging out of the community land trust movement, Equity Trust was created to help people shift patterns of ownership that are harmful to communities, and to provide models for effectively stewarding resources (such as land, food and housing) upon which the community's health depends.

Gary Lamb is a long-time student of Rudolf Steiner's social ideas. He is the former managing editor of The Threefold Review and the author of two books, The Social Mission of Waldorf Education and Wellsprings of the Spirit: Free Human Beings as the Source of Social Renewal. He is currently working on a book about Rudolf Steiner's associative economics in relation to agriculture and food distribution. Gary is also active in the school choice and alternative educational assessment movements.

Ted McGlone has taught the Economics Main Lesson Block for two years at the Waldorf School of Garden City, where his daughters Abigail and Phoebe go to school. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Utah in 1994. He is Associate Professor of Economics and Associate Chair of the Social Sciences Department at St. Joseph's College, Patchogue, Long Island. Gradually maturing from his first encounters with the Threefold Community as a youth in Spring Valley, N.Y., the study and development of Anthroposophy has become a passion in his life.

Mark Moodie works in the Forest of Dean in the United Kingdom, with the intention of bringing scientific rigor to the evaluation of potentised preparations, the use of peppers, and planting timed to coincide with celestial configurations.

Ethan C. Roland is a permaculture designer, teacher, and researcher based in the Central Connecticut River Valley. He studies and practices regenerative design in all corners of the world, from the wild apple forests of Kazakhstan to the tropical rainforest ecosystems of Central America. Ethan runs the ecological farm and home design firm AppleSeed Permaculture (www.appleseedpermaculture.com) and helps to organize the Northeastern Permaculture Network (www.northeasternpermaculture.wikispaces.com). Ethan's research interests focus on creating perennial agriculture ecosystems that sequester greenhouse gases, provide multiple benefits for humans, and enhance ecological health.

Chris Stearn is currently baking at Hawthorne Valley Farm Bakery in Ghent, New York. He has traveled around the world baking sourdough bread. He lives with his wife Betsy Cashen and daughter Abigail in an off-the-grid house near the farm. He is currently involved in a project to grow local wheat, bake it and distribute it locally.
